Mott MacDonald wins N Ireland waste contract

Mott MacDonald has been appointed technical adviser to a group of Northern Ireland councils known as the Southern Waste Management Partnership as part of a consortium to provide client-side advisory services to the group. The company will provide technical, planning and environmental guidance to the client on the major scheme valued at up to £400 million. Over the next two years a contractor will be selected to develop residual waste treatment plants and will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the facilities throughout the 25 year contract. Construction of the new facilities is anticipated to take just under three years.
