Survey indicates disparity in pay between CSR consultants and in-house staff

Professionals in the CSR/sustainability sector feel secure despite recession and squeeze on budgets; consultants earn £10k less than in-house counterparts

Most individuals in CSR/sustainability posts report high levels of job satisfaction, with 80% of respondents to a recent survey describing themselves as happy with their lot. About 70% reported feeling "secure" or "more secure in their jobs" than last year, despite the timing of the survey being during November and December 2008, when the economic climate was deteriorating rapidly. However, 30% of respondents said they felt their jobs were less secure.
