The current economic climate is forcing ERM and its corporate clients “to do things we should have been doing anyway”, said Ms James. For the international environmental management consultancy, this means engaging more with clients to understand their businesses and the environmental challenges they face, working more collaboratively with colleagues overseas, responding swiftly to changes in demand by redeploying staff, as well as reducing travel costs wherever possible. There have also been staff cutbacks to contend with.
