14-Apr-09

The environmental and engineering consultancy has entered into an agreement with contractor Costain to provide multi-disciplinary services for the Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority PFI project. The value of the contract to Scott Wilson is expected to be in excess of £10 million over four years, and includes architectural, civil and structural, building services, geotechnical and geoenvironmental, planning and licensing, landscaping and acoustics services.

The PFI project, led by a Viridor and John Laing joint-venture, is claimed to be Europe's largest waste management deal, and has recently been brought to a financial close (see EA Newslink, 08-April-09).
