ADAS suffers weakened performance in 2008
17-Apr-09Rural environment consultancy and research firm ADAS has published its annual report for a period of a year and 10 days to the end of September 2008, which shows a 1% decline in turnover for continuing operations to £37.8 million. "A further significant decline in funding from the business's largest client in 2007-08 had a noticeable detrimental effect on turnover", it said. The group was shown be operating at a loss, although profits on the disposal of its farm businesses, at £4.28 million, pushed it back into the black - with overall profits for the year standing at £2.4 million.
The group made 10% of its workforce redundant at the end of 2008, including about 20 staff from its 200-strong environmental division (see Environment Analyst, 09-Mar-09).
