Consultancies welcome new cash for “Superfund” cleanup of abandoned toxic waste sites, but underlying regulatory drivers are more important

08-May-09  As part of a suite of funding for public sector environmental projects, Barack Obama's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act gave the US Environmental Protection Agency an additional $600 million for the federal Superfund programme to support the remediation of 50 abandoned toxic waste sites scattered across 28 states.
