SLR confirms record growth in 2008
28-May-09Financial results for the year ending 31 October 2008 show SLR Consulting had the best year in its 15 year history, with revenue growing by 73% to £54.6 million. As reported in January (Environment Analyst, 16-Jan-09), SLR had an exceptionally strong year, in part due to its strength in “recession-proof” waste and energy consultancy. Acquisitions also helped to bolster the company's turnover, including the purchase of Canadian consultancy Seacor Environmental.
SLR now has 22 offices in the UK and Ireland and 24 in North America. It reports that 55% of its business during the year ending 31 October 2008 came from “clients of more than five years standing”. The consultancy says it plans to expand further through “selective acquisitions”.
Environment Analyst has not yet seen a copy of the full accounts, however, operating profits for the year are thought to have risen substantially, from £5.6 million to approximately £9.0 million. No information has been made available regarding more recent financial performance.
