Environ acquires Brazilian consultancy

With the purchase of Brazilian firm Arquipélago, Environ has taken its first step toward expanding its business into Latin America.

The 30-strong consultancy was founded in 1998 and operates from two offices, one in São Paulo and the other in Valinhos. Arquipélago's services include environmental engineering, site assessment, remediation and sustainability consulting. With its new parent company's capabilities in human and ecological risk assessment, air quality, and industrial wastewater management, Arquipélago plans to expand its service offering.

Environ believes that “significant environmental challenges” in Latin America offer new opportunities and that there is increasing demand in the region for “client services over the longer term”.
