Momentum grows in low energy refurb & new build consultancy

A raft of policies has made cutting energy use and carbon emissions from UK buildings a priority. But questions remain about whether clients will make the necessary capital investments and whether there is sufficient engineering capacity to deliver what is required. Geraint Roberts reports

Nearly half of the UK’s carbon emissions come from the built environment, accounting for more than roads, railways and airports combined. But only relatively recently has the government begun to give as much attention to the sector’s emissions as it has done to industrial emissions.
