Black & Veatch and Atkins win AMP5 work
28-Apr-10News of further contracts won by consultancies to serve UK water companies during the 2010-2015 AMP5 capital investment cycle has been announced. Both Black & Veatch and Atkins have won AMP5 framework contracts.
Black & Veatch has been awarded a “baseload” contract by Thames Water, which earlier this month announced three other baseload contracts with consortia that include consultancies Mott MacDonald and MWH (Environment Analyst 15-Apr-10). Black & Veatch emphasises that this latest contract represents the fourth consecutive five-year AMP cycle during which it has worked for Thames Water.
Meanwhile, Atkins has announced its seventh AMP5 contract win, a £5 million contract with Bristol Water. Commenting, Tim Askew, managing director of Atkins’ water and environment business, said: “The Bristol Water contract will see us drawing on expertise and innovative solutions from across Atkins. We are delivering services including feasibility studies, ecological/environmental assessments and detailed design. The contract is technically challenging but we are committed to deliver it in a timely and cost-effective way.”
