SLR acquires Alaskan consultancy
13-Jul-10SLR has acquired Alaska-based environmental consultancy Hoefler Consulting Group (HCG) for an aggregate consideration of around £5 million.
Headquartered in Anchorage, HCG provides services to clients in the energy, mining and natural resource management sectors and has 55 employees and offices in Fairbanks, Portland and Seattle. Also a leading provider of air quality permitting and compliance, and land quality services, it is an employee-owned company which was established in 1995 by Brian Hoefler, who remains with SLR. The combination of staff will result in a total of 80 Alaska based employees.
Thanks largely to its strongly performing North American business, which is dominated by work for oil and gas clients, SLR recently posted slightly higher global revenue for the year ending 30 October 2009 (Environment Analyst 27-May-10).
Having recently completed the £11 million acquisition of Heggies, a 140 person environmental consultancy in Australia (Environment Analyst 03-Mar-10), the Group says it is well positioned to expand our technical expertise across North America, Europe and Australia.
