One third of CRC-eligible bodies registered, claims Enviro Agency

More than 1,200 organisations have registered to participate in the UK's incoming carbon reduction commitment (CRC) energy efficiency scheme out of a total of 3-4,000 thought to be required to do so by 30 September.

11-Aug-10  As of 10 August, 1,229 private and public sector bodies had completed the registration process, according to information released by the Environment Agency. Combined, their annual electricity use is approximately 40,000,000 MwH, which is more than half the amount expected to be 'caught' by the CRC and equivalent to a third of the amount used by UK homes. The CRC is the UK government's latest major addition to its suites of climate change policies...
