PB to prepare enviro impact statement for Detroit light rail
The US city of Detroit's department of transportation has chosen Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB) to produce an environmental impact statement (EIS) for a planned 9.3 mile light rail line. PB's work will involve consulting with the public on environmental impacts and is scheduled for completion by next July. Once finalised, the EIS will be submitted to the US Federation Transit Administration. PB has already undertaken a series of preparatory studies focusing on socio-economic, traffic and noise issues for the $400 million light rail project, which is a public-private partnership.
