Aecom wins Asian water treatment contract

A contract to design the reconstruction and upgrading of a major water treatment works in Hong Kong has been won by Aecom. The project aims to overhaul one part of the Sha Hin water treatment works, one of Asia's largest, in order to increase capacity, while maintaining output of the full plant. The client, Hong Kong water supplies department, has also requested the creation of a visitor centre for the treatment works, which will serve the needs of more than two million residents once the upgrade is completed in 2016.
