JBA wins N Ireland flood risk modelling contract

Flood models for three rivers in Northern Ireland will be produced by a consortium that includes JBA Consulting. The Northern Ireland Rivers Agency has appointed JBA in conjuction with WDR and RT Taggart to follow up on preliminary flood risk assessments (PFRAs) focusing on the rivers Lagan, Bush and Enler. The PFRAs identified “areas of potential significant flood risk”, prompting the agency to commission more detailed hydrodynamic modelling. JBA's work will include a review of the rivers' history of flooding, channel surveys, flood flow estimates and hydraulic modelling.
