Sweco wins hydropower renewal work

Swedish-based consultancy Sweco has recently won two hydropower contracts with a combined value of almost €3.5 million. The contracts focus on the upgrading of ageing Swedish hydro-electric infrastructure and are designed to increase output. For the mouth of Lake Storsjön, Sweco will design a new power plant to replace the existing Hissmofors plant, operated by Jämtkraft. The consultancy will also design a new slipway and floodgates for the Bergeforsen power plan, owned by Vattenfall and E.On. “Sweco’s engineers were highly sought after... when Sweden’s hydropower resources were developed.
