Summary REC have an exciting opportunity for a Senior/Principal Ecologist to join our successful multidisciplinary consultancy and assist in the growth of our Ecology Services team in Manchester.
Details

You will have a proven track record in project management, field work and technical reporting and experience of mentoring other staff. This office has a strong emphasis on cross-selling our other specialist environmental services and thus a good understanding of environmental consultancy is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Management, delivery and design of a range of projects, prepare tenders in accordance with budgets and deadlines;
  • Undertake business development activities, including preparation of bids and proposals, marketing and client development;
  • Liaise with internal and external parties, including colleagues, clients, contractors and stakeholders; and,
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and support to the Ecology Services team.

Qualifications:

  • Degree and / or a post graduate qualification in a relevant discipline; and,
  • Full membership of CIEEM
  • Applicants with at least one European Protected Species license, particularly Class 2 bats, would be highly desirable.

Additional Requirements 

  • Knowledge of the licensing process and mitigation implementation;
  • Experience of peer reviewing and editing of reports;
  • Track record with local planning authorities and clients across the country; and,
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
