Role Overview
Amec Foster Wheeler is currently recruiting a Principal / Associate Director Environmental Impact Assessment Consultant to work in our Bristol office. The EIA Consultant will manage and grow our EIA footprint in South West England and Wales. 

This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to build on the success of the national EIA team who are currently supporting a number of high profile major infrastructure developments in the nuclear, rail and aviation sectors among others.

The appointment is key to unlocking opportunities locally and presents a rare chance to grow the business and a team to deliver new projects (in collaboration with the wider team). This new position would be ideal for someone with a strong consultancy background and who is looking to make a step change in their career. 

The role offers unique access to challenging, exciting and varied projects and development opportunities and as you would expect for this level of appointment a salary and benefits package commensurate with that challenge.


Role Requirements

  • Qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in an Environmental or Environmental Planning discipline
  • Have an excellent general environmental understanding across all of the technical disciplines that need to be assessed in EIA's 
  • Be able to confidently discuss and present a broad range of environmental issues to clients and potential clients
  • Have an excellent track record of directing / managing major infrastructure EIA's in a consultancy or industry environment 
  • Membership of a professional body such as IEMA or IEEM preferred 
  • Experience managing a team of EIA Managers and other environmental specialists is desirable
  • Knowledge of EIA opportunities and clients in South West England and Wales and have been responsible for undertaking business development activity 
  • Experience in the nuclear sector would be advantageous
