RPS secures wind farm extension for Infinergy
24 January 2013 / United Kingdom
RPS Group has helped Infinergy Ltd secure planning permission from Kettering Borough Council for the Burton Wold South onshore wind farm extension. The proposed five additional turbines will be 100m high to blade tip and supply the needs of 6,000 homes by generating 11.5 MW when fully commissioned by the end of 2014.
Acting as project manager, RPS consultants prepared the environmental statement which included an assessment of the proposal’s impact on ecology and ornithology, access and traffic, landscape and visual impact, historic environment, noise, socioeconomics and recreation, agriculture and soils, and shadow flicker.
This is the second time that RPS has obtained planning permission on behalf of Infinergy for a wind farm in Northamptonshire, the previous occasion being the seven turbine New Albion wind farm near Corby.
