Ricardo Energy and Environment’s waste practice director Adam Read is leaving the firm nine years after joining legacy company AEA. He is moving to Suez Recycling and Recovery where he will succeed the retiring Gev Eduljee as external affairs director in September.
With Ricardo E&E one of the leading consultancies offering specialist waste management services in the UK (Environment Analyst 29-Jun-17), the firm is likely to miss Read at the helm of the waste practice - a position he held since 2010. Read will be replaced by Andy Maunder, who has been with Ricardo/AEA since 1996. The European arm of AEA was acquired by Ricardo in 2012 (EA 09-Nov-12).
Read said: "I am really excited about the opportunity to join Suez, and work closely with the leadership team on the future positioning of the business in the UK market. Suez has been one of the leading waste management companies during the 20 years or so I have worked in the sector, and I am keen to get involved with all aspects of the business come September.
"The external affairs director role is one I have always coveted - being externally focused, market facing, and drawing on my academic and consultancy training, to engage in debates and help develop solutions….
"I am sad to be leaving behind many close friends and colleagues after a busy nine years at Ricardo…"
