Canadian-headquartered international engineering and design consultancy Stantec has announced the formal integration of ESI Consulting into its business. The process will see Shrewsbury, UK-based ESI fully rebrand to Stantec.
This follows Stantec’s acquisition of the 50-strong hydrogeology and contaminated land specialist six months ago (EA 27-Mar-18). Combining the two firms created "one of the largest players in the UK infrastructure market", according to Stantec, with its latest acquisition target - Peter Brett Associates (PBA) - also reflecting this ambition and bringing further complementary capabilities (EA 16-Aug-18).
ESI will now operate as part of Stantec UK’s environmental services business.
Jon Cooke, environmental services director, Stantec UK (and also former managing director of ESI), said: "The experience and deep technical knowledge of our newly combined environmental services team will be one of the most sophisticated players in the UK. We have a great opportunity to play a significant part in the many infrastructure projects that will be delivered in the next decade."
Stantec boasts a total of 22,000 global staff, with around 2,400 based in the UK.
