Canadian international engineering and consultancy group Stantec has completed its acquisition of the 700-person British-based firm Peter Brett Associates for an undisclosed fee. The deal, which closed on 6 September, marks another big step for Stantec in the UK after it burst onto the scene in 2016 with the purchase of MWH, which operated a well established UK and European business (EA 01-Apr-16).
Reading-headquartered PBA is known for its urban planning and regeneration consultancy offering, with expertise across the planning, environment, transport, civil engineering and buildings sectors. The firm boasts 14 offices around the UK and three mainland Europe offices in Germany, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
Stantec also recently announced the acquisition of Ontario-based project management, civil engineering and planning firm True Grit Engineering in a deal which due to close in Q4 2018. True Grit provide a number of environmental consultancy services including environmental site assessments, hydrogeology and noise and air assessments.
