Anthesis acquires sustainability strategy specialist

Sustainability services firm Anthesis Group has acquired London-based sustainability strategy and innovation consultancy GoodBrand. The move forms an important part of Anthesis’ growth plans which aim to increase its sustainability and technology offerings.

Operating globally across Europe, Asia and the Americas, the 15-strong acquisition works with a range of clients to integrate social and environmental impacts into their business strategies. GoodBrand has worked with a number of fast-moving consumer goods companies including Unilever, Nespresso and Nestlé.

The acquisition will support Anthesis’ "strong growth ambitions" for its next phase of development. According to the firm, 2019 will see it integrate more talent and M&A, expanding both its services and geographic reach. Anthesis currently boasts a network of 250 experts across eleven countries.

Anthesis Group CEO Stuart MacLachlan said: "I’m pleased to welcome GoodBrand to Anthesis. It will strengthen our offering and further enable us to answer these complex, but vital questions for our clients. We expect to see continued significant M&A activity as the professional services sector galvanises and mobilises in response to growing organisational needs for sustainability integration."

The acquisition is Anthesis’ 12th since it was established in 2013, with previous acquisitions including Sustain (EA 16-Oct-18), Mosaic Sustainability (EA 04-Feb-16) and UMR GmbH (EA 30-Jan-14).
