The Role:

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Environment Consultant, Land Quality to join our Environmental teams based in Edinburgh, Newcastle, London, Peterborough, Manchester or Liverpool.  We require someone who can proactively contribute to our in-house technical work, ensuring that it is of the quality expected and required by our internal and external clients.

The role requires a close working relationship within the land quality discipline and with specialists within other technical disciplines including transport, maritime, water, waste and geotechnical specialists, and the provision of land quality support and advice across the business. In particular you will be able to:-

  • apply commercial and project management skills to ensure effective execution and delivery of land quality projects and the land quality elements of multi-disciplinary projects through planning and post-consent/delivery phases
  • support the delivery of our land quality service support the development of our land quality knowledge base within the UK and assist in the development of new clients in key strategic markets, especially the development sector and the industrial and energy sectors
  • provide leadership and co-ordination in the production of tenders and proposals to new and existing clients

You will coordinate and lead in a variety of work, including office based activities such as preliminary risk assessments generic and quantitative risk assessments for human health, controlled waters and ground gas, interpretative reporting, development of remedial strategies and the design of site characterisation studies including monitoring strategies and the production of specifications and bill of quantities.

You will be expected to undertake land quality work within the context of inter alia EIA/ESIA, planning support and due diligence.  Project involvement typically includes renewable and waste to energy projects, flood alleviation schemes, mixed use development schemes, as well as other industrial sites.

Ongoing contact with project managers, discipline leads and team leaders, and networking within the business group and company will be key to the successful execution of the role, both in terms of winning new project work and to ensure continual involvement on current projects.
