We are seeking an enthusiastic and outgoing individual with offshore energy experience to join our well-established team in Aberdeen.  The successful candidate will provide technical environmental support to our impressive list of oil & gas and other energy clients and help to develop and grow the Aberdeen team.

About the role

The main purpose of the role is to support the delivery and development of Intertek’s key Oil and Gas Accounts and to foster relationships / win work with new clients.  The role will consist of a wide range of tasks related to offshore permitting and EIA. The chance to work on a broader range of offshore projects, including renewables and cable (power interconnector, telecom) projects, will also be available.

The team specialises in environmental permitting, EIA / SEA and environmental engineering studies for marine industries - eg, oil & gas, renewables, and power transmission and telecommunication cables).  The role will consist of a mix of office-based and client facing activities, involving occasional unconventional working hours dependent on project and business needs.

Required skills and experience

The successful applicant will have:-

  • A degree in a relevant science, engineering or environmental subject ideally including a marine aspect 
  • Excellent knowledge of offshore environmental UK legislation including OPPC and OCR
  • Demonstrable experience in offshore energy projects (conventional, new)
  • Project Management experience on small to medium projects
  • Experience of writing EIAs / SEAs for offshore energy projects
  • Client relationship building
  • High level of numeracy
  • Excellent written and verbal use of the English language, including report writing

  • Oil Pollution Emergency Plans
  • Experience of business development and bid writing
