Event overview

With the effects of climate change and increasing storm intensity posing an ever-greater risk to infrastructure and property development, the UK needs to be more resilient to flooding and better able to mitigate the risks. Building on the success of last year’s event, our 2019 Flood Risk Management: Resilience and Adaptation conference is returning to London on 5th December.

This one-day conference will look at the regulatory and policy backdrop enabling better flood risk management, provide practical strategies to manage the impact of flooding on infrastructure and housing development and look at practical, integrated approaches to catchment and flood risk planning.

Last year’s event brought together representatives from the Environment Agency, The Met Office, National Infrastructure Commission and several Lead Local Flood Authorities to discuss the new National FCERM strategy and share real life experiences and new approaches. Expert-led presentations, extensive Q&A discussion time and networking opportunities will ensure delegates get the most out of the day.

Delegates from last year's conference said:

  • 'Really interesting range of topics covered by knowledgeable speakers and good opportunities for networking' - Burges Salmon
  • 'Very informative, good variety in topics and good calibre speakers' - Epping Forest District Council
  • 'The highlight of the day was networking and meeting/discussing issues with field experts' - PJA
  • 'Great range of presentations from a variety of people, a perfect arrangement' - Northamptonshire County Council
