BMT wins enviro management contract for MoD vessel

The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) has chosen BMT Isis, a subsidiary of BMT Group, to produce a safety and environmental case report (Secr) and to provide ongoing safety and environmental management support for HMS Protector, an ice patrol ship that entered service earlier this year. Commenting on the contract, BMT Isis project manager, Steve Golder, said: “Our task will be to deliver an appropriate statement of the vessel's safety and environmental status supporting HMS Protector during the 2011-2012 deployment in the Antarctic austral summer”. BMT Isis will also produce a Secr for the motor boat, James Carin IV, which will provide HMS Protector with the capability of undertaking hydrographic surveying in shallow water.
