About the role

The purpose of the role is to support the delivery of subsea cable and offshore renewables projects on behalf of Intertek’s clients, with an emphasis on subsea survey, cable technology installation, planning and design, risk assessment and project management.

About you

We are looking for somebody with an inquisitive mind who is enthused by the prospect of building scientific argument to address complex realworld challenges.  You should enjoy liaising directly with clients, contractors and regulators and have a desire to manage work packages or projects. You should also enjoy working in a cohesive team with other gifted individuals and be excited by the prospect of developing practical and quantified leading-edge solutions.  

Required skills and experience

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in relevant technical subject
  • Minimum of 2 year’s experience in offshore geophysical and/or geotechnical survey industry
  • Experience in report writing and large-scale data processing, interpretation and visualization
  • Technical understanding in one or more of the following: offshore surveying, engineering, installation, and operations and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Systems and compliance requirements for offshore projects
  • Adaptable and flexible approach to varied and multiple project requirements

Additional desirable skills 

  • Offshore Renewable Energy, Pipeline or Cable Networks project experience
  • Design and installation of subsea infrastructure
  • Technical proficiency in GIS, CAD and industry standard processing and software packages (e.g. SSS, MAG, SBP)
  • Experience in leading or supporting the bidding process on an engineering project
  • Industry recognized occupational health & safety management qualification
  • Marine survival and offshore medical certification
  • Fluency in second European language
