We are looking for an enthusiastic & capable individual to help us fulfil the Council’s obligations under the National Planning Policy Framework and Part 2A of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

Working as part of the team, you will help the council ensure that land being redeveloped in Leeds is suitable for the proposed use with respect to land contamination. This work will include assessing basic reports which accompany planning applications and providing advice to planning officers. You will also be involved in supporting the council’s Contaminated Land Inspection Strategy.

You will possess a degree in an appropriate discipline (such as land contamination, environmental/earth science, chemistry). You must have an understanding of the planning and Part 2A regimes. You will have well-developed IT skills. An understanding of GIS is desirable with good verbal and written communication skills.
