Event overview

The second webinar in this EIA webinar series, designed to help practitioners understand and deliver effective practice, will see Martin Broderick (Oxford Brookes University and PINs NSIP Examiner) provide his insight and perspective on approaching many of the UK’s biggest and most detailed assessments.

Moving from a quick review of the basics of the EIA process around NSIP applications – including its unique Preliminary Environmental Information – through a reflection across the PINs guidance the start of this webinar will provide delegates with a great refresh of key knowledge. The second half will provide expert perspective from Martin Broderick who has both led major infrastructure EIAs internationally, as a consultant, and led the examination of DCO EIA applications for PINs. What issues generate challenges that could lead to an EIA further information request, what does good practice look like for major infrastructure EIA, how easy can digital EIA approaches be considered in this process.

This EIA and NSIP webinar will consider what works and what doesn't in some of the biggest EIAs we see in the UK, all from the perspective of an expert who has both led large scale infrastructure EIA and acted as a planning inspectorate NSIP examiner.
