ADAS wins gov't river catchment contract

ADAS is to lead a research programme in one of three demonstration test catchments in England, the Hampshire Avon, to monitor the potential of sustainable on-farm mitigation methods for improving water quality and ecology. Funded by Defra and the Welsh Assembly Government, the research forms part of UK efforts to implement the EU water framework directive. Two other, similar projects will be conducted by the University of East Anglia (river Wensum in Norfolk) and a consortium of staff from Lancaster, Durham, Newcastle and Cumbria universities (river Eden in Cumbria).
