AEA advises O2 on CRC

Mobile phone company O2 has employed AEA Technology to help it prepare for participation in incoming UK climate change legislation, the carbon reduction commitment (CRC) energy efficiency scheme. Having already undertaken an “assessment of O2's liabilities under the CRC” as well as an appraisal of opportunities for lower energy costs and an improved reputation, AEA will work with O2 to “prepare all the necessary data required for registration under the scheme”. AEA says it is working with more than 20 clients on CRC-related issues. The consultancy is also CRC “principal technical advisor” to the Department of Energy and Climate Change, the government department overseeing implementation of the scheme.
