Aecom wins 5-year US Air Force enviro framework contract
Aecom is one of several dozen companies to be awarded an “indefinite delivery/ indefinite quantity”, five-year contract by the US Air Force's center for engineering and the environment. The contract sets the stage for Aecom to bid to deliver “environmental restoration and remediation services” on a global basis. The contract has a maximum value of $3 billion and is part of the US Air Force's worldwide environmental restoration and construction '09 (Werc09) programme. Since securing the contract, Aecom has won two Werc09 “task orders”. One focuses on an air reserve base in California, where Aecom will work on the decommissioning and removal of existing groundwater extraction and soil vapour extraction systems. The second will see Aecom responsible for remediation of contaminated soils at an air reserve station in Wisconsin.
