AEA wins Irish green fleet contract

Ireland's largest telecommunicatons supplier, eircom, has hired AEA to help it reduce the fuel bill of its transport fleet. The €100,000 contract win is for the first phase of a three-year programme designed to achieve “lasting behaviour change” on the part of eircom's 3,000 fleet drivers. Eirom's goal is to reduce fuel usage by “at least 7%”, says AEA. During the first phase of the scheme, AEA's work will include establishing baseline data of current fuel usage and training drivers in fuel-efficient techniques.
