WYG wins Dhaka masterplanning contract

White Young Green (WYG) has been chosen by the national government of Bangladesh to lead a team of consultants in the preparation of a development plan for the country's capital city, Dhaka. Funded by the Asian Development Bank, the project will create “an urban planning and development framework” for the Dhaka city region, which is “which is intended to form a context for longer term investment by the ADB and other international funding agencies”, says WYG. The consultancy's head of international masterplanning and urban design commented on the contract win: “I am thrilled to be leading the main consultant’s team on this challenging project which will require innovative development and investment proposals to enhance economic activity and social cohesion in a city whose very survival is at risk through climate change.”
