Marine planning portal launched by ABPMer

Specialist consultancy ABP Marine Environmental Research (ABPMer) has created a website dedicated to marine planning issues. Its purpose is to act as a “point of reference as marine planning evolves in the UK”. Commenting, ABPMer technical director Stephen Hull said: “We wanted to open a dialogue with marine practitioners and thought a dedicated website where we could provide our position through white papers, a useful start to the conversation on marine planning delivery. We especially invite viewers to share their practical experience from any marine planning initiative...” ABPMer notes that marine planning forms “part of an overall system of marine management ... being implemented in many nations’ seas...”. In the UK, increased focus on regulation of marine activities is likely following passage of the marine and coastal access bill last year.
