We have an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Resource and Sustainability professional, to join our expanding team, who has expert knowledge of the circular economy and of developing and delivering resource efficiency and sustainability initiatives into businesses.

SLR have ambitious growth plans for 2021 and wish to strengthen our offering in the resource and sustainability sector, so we are looking for an ambitious individual, with a proven track record in leading projects and working with senior management, who can assist with pushing forward the development of the resource and sustainability specialist business area.

The preferred locations for the role are either Bristol, Shrewsbury or Manchester, however other areas will be considered.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Expert knowledge of resource and product sustainability solutions, including supply chain, understanding of the circular economy etc.
• Client focused with a proven track record in delivering successful initiatives.
• Experienced and adept in project leadership and direction.
• Ideally experience of both public and private sector organisations and businesses.
• Ambitious and proactive.
• Degree qualified in Environmental Science or Engineering or equivalent (ideally Master’s degree).
• Chartered membership of a professional body.
• Full driving licence.
• Able to undertake short-term travel within the European Region.
  
  MAIN DUTIES

As a Principal Resource and Sustainability Consultant you will work with organisations and businesses to advise and provide solutions to enable them to become more socially and environmentally responsible, in their operational and commercial behaviours. You'll need excellent influencing skills as you will need to balance the demands of the business, which can often conflict with the environmental and sustainability goals.

Selling into your existing clients and the wider SLR client base, you will contribute to the growth of the Waste and Resource Management team by assisting with external recruitment and skill transfer through mentoring. You’ll be expected to assist with the delivery of business growth objectives and will be given the opportunity for career advancement, with team and line management responsibilities, as this business area grows.
