Summary We are seeking a candidate with a strong academic background having achieved an appropriate science based degree. Two to three years’ experience of working in industry is preferred, either as a consultant or directly for a water company or the Environment Agency.

The position will be with Envirep (www.envirep.co.uk) and will focus on the preparation of flood risk and sustainable drainage reports and other similar products. Site visits will sometimes be required and data and information collected used in the support of the preparation of reports.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Support projects that deliver high quality, pragmatic, advice and solutions to environmental problems.
  • To manage and develop our range of desktop reports covering flood risk and drainage.
  • To manage client enquiries, inspiring confidence following up with proposals.
  • Delivery of flood risk reports and drainage (SuDS) reports.
  • Provide technical guidance to other team members where appropriate.
  • Review / check reports for accurate interpretation.
  • Analyse reports and be able to report on profitability and performance.
  • To support the ongoing development of Envirep’s range of innovative standardised reports utilising technical knowledge, market interpretation and a concise methodology.
  • To provide technical support to users of Envirep’s data products

Requirements:

  • A postgraduate qualification in Hydrology or a related scientific discipline
  • Have a good technical understanding of hydrology and drainage design / assessment.
  • Two to three years’ experience of working in industry preferred, either as a consultant or directly for a water company/Environment Agency
  • Working toward Chartered status
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Have a current driving licence
  • Have an excellent attitude to team work and a strong desire to learn and develop your career in a structured environment.
  • Have enthusiasm and creativity to help grow our business
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required as the position will deal with client enquiries over the telephone and via email
