SEEKING LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS AT ALL LEVELS – MANCHESTER, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD

RSK Environment Ltd, a member of RSK Group plc, is looking for high-calibre Landscape Architects to join RSK’s growing Landscape Team which offers a comprehensive range of Landscape Planning, Design and Management services.  RSK are involved in some of the country’s most high profile infrastructure projects and have significant track record of working on NSIP projects taking them successfully through DCO.

We are looking for experienced Chartered Landscape Architects at all levels to join the team on a permanent or contract basis, starting within the next few months.  

Role Summary:

A key aspect of the role will be to undertake Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments following best practice industry guidelines, Landscape Masterplanning and Landscape Design for a wide range of development types including:   mixed use and residential schemes; electrical transmission infrastructure; rail; power stations; gas and oil facilities; renewable energy.   The role will include field work in both urban and rural landscapes across the UK, and occasionally overseas.

We are seeking candidates with a passion and flair for graphic and written communication, and who have a keen interest in the latest techniques and software for presenting and communicating assessment and design information.  

Interest from candidates with particular experience in electricity transmission, rail and energy infrastructure projects is welcomed.  We would also welcome hearing from chartered professionals who are keen to take the next step up and gain managerial experience, supporting the team leader and taking a proactive and leading role in: supporting our business development and practice promotion activities; staff development and training including coaching and mentoring junior staff on the P2C; and the line management of junior staff.

Skills and experience

To fulfil this role, candidates will ideally have the following skills or experience.

Essential

  • Degree or Post Graduate qualification in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Planning or Landscape Management;
  • Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment;
  • Landscape Masterplanning and Design;
  • 2d drawing using AutoCAD or other CAD packages;
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook);
  • Excellent graphical presentation and communication skills;
  • Excellent report writing skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Strong organisational skills;
  • Self motivated; and
  • Full clean driving licence.

Desirable

  • Previous experience of working in consultancy;
  • Expert Witness
  • NSIP/DCO Project experience
  • Business development and practice promotion;
  • Preparing fee proposals;
  • P2C Mentoring experience;
  • Landscape/Seascape/Townscape Assessment;
  • Urban Design and Masterplanning;
  • Willingness to work abroad when required;
  • 3d modelling and visualisations; and
  • Experience or knowledge of BIM and related software.
