Summary REC Manchester have a fantastic full time permanent opportunity to join the business as an AutoCAD/Graphics Support Technician. The role involves preparing complex drawings and tables for Environmental Consultants to report on.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Perform drafting operations for the determination of project plans and collect data for project designs.
  • Develop and draft drawings and plans for a variety of sectors including:
    • Geotechnical Investigations
    • Geo-Environmental Investigations
    • Geological Cross sections
    • Contaminant Distribution Plots and contouring.
    • 3D Contaminant Distribution Plots
    • Ecological Investigations, Habitat Surveys
    • Location Plans
  • Undertake field work, documentation, research and drafting tasks as requested by clients or surveyors.
  • Undertake area and volume estimates for a variety of sectors including Habitat Creation as part of BREEAM studies, earthworks balance calculations for cut and fill operations, waste disposal estimates, etc.

Education and experience:

  • 2D/3D Auto CAD Experience is essential for this role
  • Corel Draw or equivalent software
  • Knowledge and experience of borehole logging software would be desirable (Holebase, Winlog, etc)
  • B/Tec in Building Studies or related field would be desirable.
  • CAD certification or relevant experience.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel.
