Environment Analyst Business Excellence Awards - Winners

Environment Analyst is pleased to announce the winners of the Environment Analyst Business Excellence Awards, which took place on 28 September 2016 in London.

The Awards are designed to recognise and applaud business achievement over the past 18 months in the world of environmental consultancy.

The EA judges liked CGL’s strong growth story and project case studies, its efforts on developing best practice for the wider sector, and also the attention given to professional development support and staff training - and particularly the strategic focus on gender balance - as an SME.

Enzygo

Founded in 2008, the judging panel were impressed with Enzygo’s journey of profitable growth, having  achieved some particularly impressive margins for a firm of this size (c30 staff based in offices in Bristol, Sheffield and Manchester).

WYG has achieved a massive turnaround from being rescued from the brink by its lenders a few years back, with its application successfully demonstrating involvement in an impressive range of projects, its increasing market visibility with WYG specialists increasingly prominent promoting their position and the company as thought leaders in the environmental & infrastructure sector.

Ramboll Environ

For its alternative - net environmental benefit analysis - approach to impact assessment in the offshore oil & gas decom field, which the EA judging panel felt was worthy for challenging the norms of established practices with the aim of bettering the environmental outcome through building in the economic value of natural systems into conventional economic modelling.

Mouchel

For Mouchel’s innovative assessment for using deep geothermal sources for tackling the more challenging aspect of heating (and cooling) decarbonisation within the high energy-using agri-tech sector.



International Firm Business Excellence Award


WINNER

SLR Consulting

The judges were very impressed at SLR's efforts to internationalise what was previously a UK-centric business over the past few years, whilst it is also equally impressive that SLR has continued to see growth recently in some highly constrained sectors, notably in the oil & gas business, indicating adaptability and agility during the current challenging global market conditions.

The EA judging panel felt this application demonstrated Jon's strong commercial acumen in managing and turning around quite a diverse business unit in difficult circumstances and adapting the offering to changing market conditions, partly through reaching out and exploring collaborative partnerships.
