Senior Remediation Scientist urgently wanted to bolster our dynamic and ambitious team.

Keltbray Group employs over a 1,000 people and has three reporting streams: Demolition & Civil Engineering (turnover £202 million), Rail (turnover £54 million) and Environmental Materials Management (turnover £16 million).

Senior Remediation Scientist JD 

Primary Tasks and Duties:

  • Report review and interpretation
  • Technical proposal writing
  • Remediation Strategy/Implementation Planning
  • Preparation of permits/ licences/ consents (MTP, MMP, notifications)
  • Management of site data/scheduling etc.
  • Regulatory correspondence/Reporting
  • Client liaison/Progress Reporting
  • Completion reporting

Qualification and Training

Essential:

  • 5-10 years professional experience in contaminated land / remediation
  • Degree in related discipline, with a grounding in contaminated land,
  • Hands on experience of sampling/ logging etc.
  • CSCS

Desirable:

  • MSc or other further qualification
  • Industry specific training/ qualification e.g. CLAIRE QP/ WAMITAB/ CEnv etc.

 Knowledge

Essential:

  • Understanding of UK Contaminated Land Regime
  • Working understanding of CLR11
  • Conceptual site model understanding

Desirable:

  • Waste classification
  • Commercial grasp of remediation project
  • Project Management
  • Understanding of UK Planning Regime

Skills and abilities

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Team work
  • Management of site / junior staff

Desirable:

  • QRA packages (P20, CLEA, RBCA etc.)
