Montrose is a young, rapidly-expanding environmental services firm founded by a team of EHS and environmental compliance experts keen to bring together what they saw as siloed and dispersed solutions into a unified offering. The firm went public in mid-2020. Now with c3,500 employees, working from 80 locations primarily across the US and Canada, but also with operations in Australia, Montrose sees itself as a "vertically integrated" firm, segmented into consulting/testing/solutions (as opposed to horizontally integrated into consulting/engineering/design). Its businesses report in three segments, each accounting for around a third of its revenues: a advisory and consulting segment, which supports environmental assessments, emergency response and recovery, audits and decommissioning programmes; a measurement and analysis business, which offers testing, lab services and leak detection and repair; and a remediation and reuse business.
