Managing Rising Costs and Resource Issues in Development

10-11am BST on 28 June, online

The increase in construction and development projects in order for the UK to ""build back better"" means potential business growth for consultants and contractors involved in brownfield regeneration and development. However these opportunities are being hampered by shortages of staff, resources and equipment on the ground.

Major infrastructure projects such as HS2 are swallowing up available materials and equipment such as drilling rigs, as well as capacity in laboratories. These impacts on the supply chain, coupled with Brexit swiftly followed by the pandemic mean a materials and resource crisis is now significantly threatening growth and development prospects. In addition, inflationary pressures and the on-going skills shortage are causing a sharp increase in costs, many of which can not always be passed on. Where land value is supressed, sites cannot be brought forward as quickly as would be preferred.

This roundtable discussion will enable business leaders in regeneration & development to discuss the current situation with their peers across all disciplines, and explore possible solutions to the current supply chain challenges.

This event is for Brownfield & Regeneration Network members only. If you are interested in attending this roundtable please contact
